I live in the United States and was wondering if it's possible to e-mail a text message to a T-Mobile UK cell phone. In this country, most wireless companies provide an address such as "[email protected]" to which an e-mail can be sent that will then be passed on to the cell phone as a text message. I'd really appreciate any help or advice you can give me. Thanks!

Anyone else out there with anything?
My experience and searches tell me that in UK ours are more on the WAP/GPRS for retrieving emails sent rather than a service like yours even though that facility sounds great and would save me money since I could send loads of text through my existing broadband rather than using my inclusive texts or paying for any.
However you should be able to just text message the person direct and this should cost no more than normal and if you have inclusive text messages this should be included
I have sent text to my sister in US and these have incurred no extra costs
I hope that helpsDeeky Evans ;0)

Is this what you're looking for? [email protected]
I found an excellent resource for finding sms email addresses for different providers

Hope this helps!

Re: e-mailing a text message to a cell phone
Interesting webpage, however it may be out of date. Cingular uses #@mmode.com stateside, and even that I can't say is for the orange side. They do however have a page on their site to send sms to their subscribers as long as you know their (ten digit)mobile # and if they are cingular (orange) or former ATTWS (blue)--of course you can try both...one would have to work. www.cingular.com then scroll down the page and on the left side is a link to "other cingular sites" which will bring you to the page to link to the page allowing you to send an sms. I tried the t-mobile.uk(and de).net sites to see if they have something along the same lines, but it's down or busy at the moment. Good luck.

Re: e-mailing a text message to a cell phone
Thanks for your help everyone! Here is an excerpt from the e-mail response I received from T-mobile concerning this matter:
"I can confirm that you can send an email to a T-Mobile UK customer as long as they have our free Mobile Email service set up.
The email address you can send to is the customers mobile number @t-mobile.uk.net. Please be aware that they'll be charged 10p (including VAT) for every 160 characters in the email they receive."

Re: e-mailing a text message to a cell phone
Can anyone tell me whether there is a cell phone made in which you can send by cell phone an e-mail to a computer, and whether you can send an e-mail from a computer to a cell phone? Thank you.
