I would really doubt that it could be.
unless Fido sends out an analog 800 MHz AMPS signal (I don't think they do) that phone does not do GSM so it can't connect to Fido's GSM network.
The best provider gives you a plan with the minutes you need at the right price. The coverage that you need to make calls all the time.

Fido does NOT have 800 analog. At one point they offered that service through Bell for a dual GSM/TDMA phone, but I couldn't tell you if they still do, I doubt it.

Thanks g3 teg for your input , but i have had confirmation of analog service with fido but only with certain phones (quebec) now as you know they have been bought by rogers so i guess that the analog is now on there system because before bell was giving them the analog lines
thanks to all of you for giving input !

Fido is fully digital GSM 1900MHz and 850MHz using the clearest digital network in Canada, Rogers Wireless. They use to allow you to roam on Bells anlalog network when you were outside Fido's zone although this isn't offered anymore. People who still have it can keep it although you cant apply for it anymore.

All users who had the dual band GMS/AMPS phones have been kicked off Bells network. Why would you use AMPS when you have the same coverage in the new Rogers/Fido network. Only difference is the new network is 100% digital.
