Fido with my unlocked phone???

Hey I just bought a unlocked Razr V3i (new out model) and its a gsm phone so i wanted to get it hooked up pay as you go with fido. On the site i bought the phone it said that it can be hooked up with fido, but it was an american site and im in canada so i didnt know if the same goes for here. The thing that worrys me that the phone wont be compatible is the fido site dosent sell the razr v3i, so the question in simple terms is this: Can i hook up a phone to fido (by buying a sim card) pay as you go if the site (fido.ca) dosent sell the phone??? Well... I read on a website that you can use ANY phone with ANY GSM service provider. But I called Tiger-Direct.com to order another V3 RAZR and they said it will work only if the company sells that phone. So I have 2 totally different answers, and I'm not sure which one is 100% true.

My sister, whom I'm ordering the V3 for, is on Fido as well, and we are ordring from an American site.

Buy the activation kit. This includes a sim card. Put the sim card in your GSM phone that has GSM 1900MHz and/or 850MHz it will work.

thanks for my question too is exact same im buying v3i, and Fido but might buy a plan,n such.. and mine will be from tigerdirect.ca aswell
