Re: Do you like fido?
I won't generalize so I'll give my opinion with a little background for each side.
Pros:
I love my Country Fido (with free Rogers roaming). To me it's better than sliced bread and I'm very happy to have it. I wish that everyone who wanted the Unlimited Canada could have one. My plan aside, the unlimited incoming plans are great too. Fido beats the competition hands down on plans and rates. I hope they don't change too much. Rogers knows that people who leave Fido are likely destined for Bell and Telus so I think they keep a good balance to keep the customer away from CDMA.
Cons:
It's funny how we always hate a company when our service or bill is screwed up but we love them when things go smoothly. I had some major problems with billing and technical in the first 7 months of being a customer (to the point where I could have ripped my hair out and cry lol). Now, so long as I don't call them and they don't call me we have a middle ground where they provide the great service plan and an error free bill and I provide payment in a more than timley fashion.
All in all, I think that if you're lucky enough to not have tech/bill problems then Fido is Canada's best choice. If you are not so lucky, then you're in for a rollercoaster ride until the problems are ironed out.
All in all, Fido may be a little bumpy but their still well worth the ride.Bush and Cheney are in charge of writing Fido's fine print

Re: Do you like fido?
Although Fido has come far from its earlier days when I first purchased a cell phone. Their plans and their second by second billing is great. So far I have returned to Fido again after being with Telus Mobility and Rogers/AT&T with a Motorola Razr v3 and so far I have been impressed with the service. I know Rogers basically owns them now and have really helped them out. I remember about 7 years ago it was horrible service and customer service, but thats like that everywhere. As long as their second by second billing continues, I will probably stay on to Fido for as long as I can. Too bad they are owned by a multi-billionaire, but hey thats how the world goes around.

Re: Do you like fido?
ok, im new and curious...
what is "CPF" ...?
also... Yes, I LOVE FIDO...
but I would LOVE to have country Fido....
Rogers roaming I don't think matter THAT much....
it adds a LITTLE extra, but fido is decent...

Re: Do you like fido?
Well, I remember trying to get a cell phone from Rogers approx. 5 years ago. They told me they would require a credit check on the spot (I was at the Montreal downtown store). I thought was kinda strange, no other cell provider had asked this before. So I provided them the info and they came back and told me I was refused! Yah right, I knew for a fact that my credit was spotless. I told them it must be a mistake, but they said there was nothing they could do and pretty much ignored me. So I walked down they street, p/u a Telus and had it for 3 years.
First impression isn't everything, but it sure means a good deal to me. I'll never do to Fido again.

Re: Do you like fido?
Well not personal experience, but a friend has had terrible experience with them, but it seems it depends on the luck - some people have given good reviews.

Re: Do you like fido?
I like Fido too, the second billing is perfect. but i have a question, when will they do '10-4'? the Walkie-Talkie thing?
and when they do, will it cover all the states too?
And how do I unlock my Nokia6020 to accept other sim cards?
Appart from that, all is well with me.
