I called Fido retention center for new iphone 3gs and retention representative (Jason) told me that I could not have iphone 3gs ..

    The reason is
I changed plan to no saf/911 plan from old plan ($30 unlimited incoming with saf/911) like 4 months ago. He kept saying that is a policy.. (what kind of policy never let a customer to have a new handset?)
    - currently I am not on contract
    - been fido subscriber for 6 years

He was even mentioning that I could not get any new handset with fido agreement because I changed plan.. If I wanted to have iphone 3gs, I was supposed to cancel the current line and made a new line, which would result in discarding my 130 fido dollars.

I hung up.. and then went to fido store to make sure if that is true.. well the retailer says that there should be no problem for iphone 3gs without cancellation

I called them again, this time, different person (couldn't remeber her name) she said that I could get iphone 3gs with fido dollars if I made new line on the same account holder, but my number would be changed.. and she also mentioned that I could not get a new handset with the current number because I changed plan to no saf/911 ..

    is this true?
I argued the fact that I was not informed about this disadvantage when I changed my plan.
representatives told me that this info is on the website but i can never find it!

    please help .

    Thanks

Re: Cannot get iphone 3gs from fido HELP!

Yes unfortunately it's 100% true, on all new no access fee plans there are no early upgrades, I handle these types of calls all day No department in fido can override this either. Not Customer Relations/Retention, not OS/Supervisors, and not CSR/Agents(Like Me). And even if the agent you spoke to did not inform you of all the disadvantages... fido has a wicked sweet team of lawyers that designed (I think...) point 17 of your contract that states we reserve the rights to change anything about you're plans and contracts and conditions. Sorry but your SOL.

    Good Luck!
