After having personal information comprimised by a Fido employee and Fido dollars being used to purchase a phone, my friend has now had Fido go back on their word and revoke a discounted price. It all started when an employee of a store she never went into accessed her personal information and purchased a phone on her account. Police were called for the matter after the employee tried to have her come into the store to 'talk about it'. Now these jerks are pretending it didn't happen because it has been a few months now.

Fido is a horrible company with terrible customer service. They should never have been given a chance to make up for their mistake and further action should have been taken. Unfortunately she should not have trusted them and gotten something in writing instead of assuming they would be decent about the situation.

You can't protect your information because it seems they give almost anyone information to all of your records. Be vigilant and check your account frequently and if there is a fraud on your account follow through with the police and don't back off after a report is filed. Canadian cell companies in general are terrible and a rip off. Although I haven't had any known fraud on my Bell account, the charges are ridiculous. Is there a company out there that has decent prices and at least acceptable customer service.
