Trouble sending/receiving text messages

I have been having this problem for a month now and it is hugely inconvenient. Sometimes it will work instantly with no problems, but usually I don't receive texts until several days after they were sent. Same goes for others receiving my texts. It all started when I downloaded the Facebook Mobile app. I thought that might have been what was causing the problem, so I deleted it, but the problem persisted. Sometimes when I go to open a text, I will be brought back to the main screen and the message will disappear. This has also happened when I send a message. My inbox seems unable to hold more than six messages at a time. If I get a seventh or eighth, they will start to disappear from my inbox until there are only six. Also, if someone is watching TV in the vicinity of my phone, it will make that irritating noise, as though I'm about to get a text or call, but it is very loud and happens every few seconds. And of course, there is never a text or call.

I'm completely lost as to what's going on with my phone and beyond annoyed that I'm paying for a service I'm not even able to use. If I wasn't prepaid, I would have called Fido by now, but I wanted to explore every possible option before I subject myself to tech support. If anybody can help me, I'd really appreciate it!

Same here. Sometimes I receive messages 30 min - 1h after they were sent. It's really frustrating. I don't know if it's Fido's fault or Apple.
