I've been given a pager by work, and I'm trying to forward the pager msgs to
my cell phone, but to do that, the pager company needs my cell phone's email
address. Help! How do I find that... or what is it?

Will this do? It's the email-to-sms gateway:
    [email protected]

It'll forward your pages to your phone as an SMS message. But it's
definitely not fast. When I started this response, I tried it myself,
and ten minutes later I'm still waiting for the SMS to arrive.

Which pager company is that? Actually a good idea--cutthrough paging on
voicemail doesn't work well for automated systems that only support
pagers (since you may answer the call not VM). It would be nice if
Cingular would provide a dedicated numeric page number (for a fee of
course) or even a dedicated number that went straight to voicemail. Many
machines don't store enough digits to dial the general VM access number
and then the cellular number and then leave a code.

It took a full HOUR for the email to get through the gateway and into
my phone. Plus, I found that it had split my message into three, at
    about 144 characters.

Much faster than the one I had! The 'mycingular.com' address took an
hour, this one took about 2 seconds. The size limitation probably
    still applies, though.

I don't know what the limitation is or was, but I just sent myself a
much-larger-than-SMS email using @.txt.att.net and on my iPhone it was split
into 8 separate SMS message. These were combined into one on the iPhone
(matter of fact I only got a single notification too: it just said 8
    messages were received).

"Think" I like this better than Sprint, where anything past 128 characters
is truncated (and occasionally large emails are bounced back to sender). I
quoted think as I don't want to get hit with a huge number of SMS
messages--I don't have unlimited with at&t (at least not yet).

Also like that when I send an SMS to a Sprint phone, from my iPhone, if it's
more than 128 characters (I think that's what the limit is, I didn't
actually count) they too get split up into multiple messages. I would
imagine that this feature is done by at&t, not the iPhone.

It is done by the carrier. When the test finally arrived, I got
multiple alerts in close succession. If it were the phone-side
software, the message would have been truncated.

I just tried this with my friend who uses a Moto V551 (2G) w/3G SIM.
She rang back and said she received a single message with a single
alert. When she opened the longish message (893 chars), it showed 1of7,
2of7, 3of7, etc. all strung together in sequence and quite readable.
