I wonder if you can help me.

I have a Sony Ericsson V800 mobile phone and I wondered if anyone knew if it
was possible to access my Hotmail email on my mobile phone.
I am not always able to get to my PC so being able to check and read any
emails that are sent to my Hotmail account would be very useful.
I do not mind if I have to install some software on my phone as long as it
does what I want it to do & it works properly.

Is it possible to access email from my Hotmail account on my Sony Ericsson
    V800 mobile phone?
How can I do this? If I need to download and install some free software to
my phone where can I find it?

I hope you can help me.

I appreciate any help or information given.

    Thanks!

Hotmail don't let you do a pop3 collection anymore, but then again I
haven't checked for a long time so it might be possible there is a
subscription service. I certainly wouldn't pay for it.
gmail offer a superior service to hotmail IMHO so it could be worth
getting hold of one of their accounts and they do do pop3 as well.
The other alternative is a java browser such as reqwireless and
accessing hotmail through that. You have to pay for it though AFAIAA.

There's a linux program called hotwayd that can be used to both POP receive
and SMTP send through a hotmail account.

Works great, I've used it for several years. There are windows versions
that do the same sort of thing. The downside, of course, is that you'd have
to set up a machine that grabbed the mail and made it internet accessible to
your phone. Not everyone's interested in doing that.
