That only works for listed numbers. He wants unlisted numbers.

I use a fairly inexpensive Reverse Search service - www.discreetskiptrace.com
Their prices are the lowest I found without having to go thru all the bs of intellius' false claims...us search really bites too etc...etc...etc...
the last i checked you can get reverse landline phones names/addresses for $29 and the cells are $39 and they're pretty quick with the results.
These guys seem to provide a quality service. I've been using them for about two months now for my skip trace investigations...btw - I did a great deal of research on these reverse info websites, including the membership sites (by the way DONT WASTE YOUR TIME - they really suck!)
The site has a good blog to educate yourself a bit before buying from these types of sites. Go to : http://discreetskiptrace.blogspot.com/
Bottom line, for most of the phone numbers you need a reverse search run on, you're gonna have to pay...the secret is to pay as little as possible and find someone reputable enough not to just take your money and give you crap results.
Good luck!

$25 to $60? Free?

All relevant people are pertinent.
All rude people are impertinent.
Therefore, no rude people are relevant.

Ughhhh
I got home from work this morning (I work midnights) and My Daughter was playing with my husbands cell phone, well I took it off of her and wiped off the jelly...to my surprise there was a text message from a number that I dont know saying *I'm here* @1:18am...I tried every reverse cell number look up possible but they all want credit cards or checks...is there any real free cell phone number look ups out there, I read all the posts here and so far they all want money. I would use our credit card to look it up but the husband has it any help is appreciated. Also...Trac phones...if the number is listed to a trac phone will it come up?
Thank you

I know they're hard to find, but you can conduct a free reverse cell number lookup right here. I've tried them myself, and they really are free of charge!
Best of luck with your toddler!

Anyone who has ever tried searching for even 10 mins. knows that there is no such thing as a cell phone directory. Especially web detective or any other do it yourself look up. To begin with web detective is just a pile of free links conveniently put together. That's all. If you pay for a subscription for a do it yourself search engine your throwing your money away. There is only 1 way to get the name and address of a cell or unlisted number. That way is to hire a private investigator. It runs $40 at my site which is www.caseclosedinc.com . Or you can try locatecell or datatrace for $59 each number. Keep in mind that these companies were operating illegally and are curently being sued by the Illinois attorney general and facing a fine of $50,000 per violation. Injunctions have been placed by all the major cell phone carriers. Try it yourself, spend all day looking for a reverse number and see what you come up with. As a Licensed and bonded Investigator I can tell you from days (not hours) searching online that you get what you pay for. Us Search and the rest of those companies have 2 year old databases. I locate wanted fugitives for bounty hunters all day. In my spare time I help people reverse numbers that most of the time end up belonging to girl/boy friends.

[QUOTE=OstaraSkies]
get a cheap calling card and call the number from a pay phone. the person won't be able to trace the call through caller ID, and either someone will pick up, or you'll hear voicemail. I've done it before, and I got my answer

You're not going to find a reverse cell phone lookup service for free. Expect to pay $50 - $80 for that.
However, you can find simple things, such as land lines and area codes with whitepages.com for free.

Hey! It could have been a wrong number. I've gotten text messages that
were not meant for me (or anyone I know). People do key in wrong numbers,
especially at 1am, after a long flight or trip.
