Lots of interesting stuff in this 99 pg. report. On page 33 of 99, there is
discussion on a new "Free Incoming" plan, where all incoming calls are free
and not counted against the AT minutes. Includes Unlimited free incoming
calls, LD, N & W & Unlimited Ready Link.
On page 51 of 99, the $36 activation fee will apply to the account, and not
to each line. So, if a new 2 phone customer signs on, they will only be
charged $36 instead of $72 for activation fees.
On page 52 of 99, Nextel customers can upgrade to SPCS's system or SPCS
customers can upgrade to Nextel's system with no activation fees charged for
cross network upgrades. Lots of details listed (which I'm not going to
re-type here) regarding handset upgrade policy.
Pg 56 of 99 discusses Spending Limit programs, to where SPCS will send a TM
to the customer when they've reached 80% on the ASL.
On page 74 of 99, SPCS introduces a new plan option "Handset Maintenance
Program". ESRP - Equipment Service & Repair Program. Pre-Merger existing
customers have up to 12-31-05 to sign up for it. There was no price listed
here. I called SPCS CS, and they said this will be available starting on
9-1-05, and they had no listing on what the monthly expense would be.
On pg 86 of 99, it starts discussing SPCS Business customer business, which
I did not read.
Anyhoo, some good reading for those that have the time to do so.

One thing that I found disturbing, is that Sprint will no longer take care
of warranty work when in the mfgr's warranty period.
I did see that existing customers (with already purchased phones) will be
taken care of, but if you buy a new one, you're out of luck.
They will mandate the (two?) protection plans for repair, and you will have
to purchase those plans within a brief time after purchase.
Sounds like a money grabbing scam to me.

Of course, Free Incoming and free unlimited Push-To-Talk are hallmarks of
several popular Nextel plans. This information is not surprising to me...
