Device Lock Management

Change Device Lock Password / PIN:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "General" > "Passcode Lock"
  3. Type in the current passcode, and then tap "Change Passcode"
  4. Enter the current passcode
  5. Enter the new passcode and tap "Next"
  6. Re-type the new passcode and tap "Done"

Enabling / Disabling Device Lock:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "General"
  3. Press "Passcode Lock"
  4. If prompted, type in the current passcode
  5. Tap "Turn Passcode On" or "Turn Passcode Off"
  6. Type in the current password or setup a new one

Touch ID Management

Touch ID is a new feature on the iPhone 5S, allowing you to set a fingerprint security option for your device.

Setting Up Touch ID:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "General" > "Passcode & Fingerprint"
  3. Tap "Fingerprints"
  4. Select if you wish to use the Touch ID for the following options: "Unlock iPhone", "iTunes Store Purchases", "App Store Purchases", "iBook Store Purchases"
  5. Tap "Add a Fingerprint" and follow the on-screen instructions to add a fingerprint

Deleting a Fingerprint:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "General"
  3. Tap "Passcode & Fingerprint" > "Fingerprints"
  4. Tap "Edit" and then press the red "-" button associated with the fingerprint that you wish to delete

PUK Code Unlock

Assuming that you've entered the PIN code incorrectly for several times in a row, your device will block you from attempting again. To unblock the device, a PUK code is required. NOTE: In order to get the PUK code, you'll need to contact Customer Care.

  1. Contact Customer Care to request the PUK code
  2. Once prompted, enter the PUK code on the "Dialer" screen
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new PIN code

Note: PUK related errors are "PIN code blocked. Enter PUK code", "Enter PUK code", "SIM card locked. Emergency calls only. Please contact Customer Care"

SIM PIN Management

Changing the SIM PIN:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "Phone" and then press "SIM PIN"
  3. If necessary, drag the slider associated with "SIM PIN" and bring it in the "ON" position. Note: by default, the SIM PIN is usually "1234" or "0000"
  4. Tap "Change PIN"
  5. Enter the current PIN
  6. Type in the new PIN
  7. Re-type the new PIN to confirm it, then tap "Save"

Enabling / Disabling the SIM PIN:

The SIM PIN code can protect your SIM card from being used on other devices without your consent. However, you can disable this feature if you so desire, by following the steps below:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press "Settings"
  2. Tap "Phone"
  3. Tap "SIM PIN"
  4. Press the slider associated with "SIM PIN" to enable or disable this feature
