help with a motorola at&t phone

i jsut got this at&t phone from ebay it is a motorola atrix 4g phone i got it to use wifi and to use the torque app for the car. well i turned it on and it requires a username and password to get to the main screen so how do i get past that. i went to t-mobile and tried to register and that site said i need a cell phone number, a bit hard being it has none. the phone also ssid the sim card is gon but i can see it and held it in my hand it is there. so before i stsart hitting buttons ans such how can i get past this is i can? in the box it has the imei number and an unlock number but i don't know if that is the user name and passwork or not. any ideas? thanks
