We'd like to hear more about European service providers, and get some feedback from people who've used them! Prepaid or contract, let us know about your experience and how you'd rate your European cellular experience!
To encourage members to post, I'm giving away CPF donations for your participation! The amount of the donation will depend on your contribution to the thread, tell me everything you can about the provider, the phone you use or used in Europe, and give us your opinion of the service provider!!!
Thanks in advance to everyone who can help us keep this thread alive!

I'll start first...
So, the 2 European providers i know and i use are Orange and Connex. I had also prepaid and contract and i am satisfied with them. I think they are good. Now i'm using a Nokia 3650 with a prepaid card from Orange, and i like them.

Re: Tell us what European Service Providers you've used!
I've used every operator in Ireland.
o2, Started with them, and im back on them now, i was with them for about 2 years, then changed, went back in 2003, stuck with them since.
Brilliant coverage-quality, good customer care, nice promotions and that aswell.
Vodafone, Meh, was with them for about 6 months good coverage but they're quality is useless, never works when ya need to. And they're the dearest aswell.
Meteor, I got one in 2004 to mess with, coverage isnt great, even if your in a coverage area, it can go from walkin across a room, ya know that kind of coverage?. Cheapest here in ireland though by far.
3, havnt used them much yet, just a bit, hasnt got me excited to be honest.
So overall, o2 all the way baby!

Re: Tell us what European Service Providers you've used!
I have used Tmobile in UK - first provider had that free minutes contract for years until it started to be more of a noose than a use. They were OK but not big on loyalty or giving good deals when I was with them.
Three - horrible twelve months - yucky phone - returned and 'repaired' three times. Poor billing and customer services (they billed me for stuff I hadn't used) No amount of free minutes could make up for this.
O2 - service much better niggles dealt with - though I am doing this thru Carphonewarehouse and sometimes they are a little clueless but it suits me so far especially with ability to do 0845 and some 0870 as part of inclusive minutes as well as the rollover for used makes them high on my list as a provider - now if they would just give me a free upgrade to the 9300i they would be just perfect until next renewal dayLast edited by DeekyEvans; 06-19-2006 at 03:39 PM.

I'm using eplus in Germany since 5 years. I'm really satisfied. Once I had software-problems with a new nec-phone. after 24 hours it was replaced, for free. I also had a plan with o² but am not that happy. the coverage is not that good, especially in buildings.

Re: Tell us what European Service Providers you've used!
I've used tele 2, 3 (three), vodaphone.
Tele2: Is the cheapest of them but don't offer so much services as the others. Uses both gsm and 3g.
3: Is an operator who only uses the 3g network. Offers alot of services everything you can amagine, they're really service minded.
Vodaphone: Is a company wich lies between tele 2 and 3. I've actually worked at there swedish main office. But they're named Telenor in sweden and the rest of nothern europe.

Re: Tell us what European Service Providers you've used!
I have used several providers in Europe during my travels and I must say that I have not had any "bad" experiences at all. I have used Vodafone, TIM, Orange etc and they have all provided me with excellent service. I can't say that I have used the data portion of their services all that much it was mainly the voice but I don't recall anytime in particular where I was unhappy with coverage or sound quality. In my opinion, since the competition and the geographical area to cover is so tight, you can't really go wrong with any provider. It is just a matter of which one fits your budget best....

Re: Tell us what European Service Providers you've used!
I've used mobistar for 4 - 5 years. (belgium operator)
i just sticked with it because i never had any problems it was a pre paid card
had good coverage a good working voicemail and thats all i needed in those days.
but now for a few weeks ago i changed to proximus, pay and go generation.
simply because of the fact that i found out it could be much cheaper
still good coverage (i dont think there is bad coverage in belgium )
good voicemail. but now i have cheaper smsand sms for free after 16.00 and weekends.
And this provider gives out alot more promos than mobistar did.
And for me,a new costumer they gave away even more .
i get to sms and sms free for 4 months 24/24 and 7days/7.
and get 10 free with every reload for 4 months.
it's possible to reload through m-banxafe too so thats another comfort added.
but that was possible on mobistar too.
i still didnt had any complaints about proximus, so i cant tell about costumer service. but as long as all goes well i guess thats a good thing right?

Re: Tell us what European Service Providers you've used!
The CallinEurope rates look very good to me and what I also liked is the postpaid billing for calls made during the previous month. For a casual user, the final cost may not be much better than with other providers, but for a heavy user, CallinEurope looks like a winner.
