Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Display"
  3. Go to "Brightness" and move the "Brightness" slider to the left to decrease brightness
  4. Tap "Sleep" and select a lower timeout duration

Disabling Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth:

NOTE: Your smartphone's connectivity features can have a big impact on the battery life, so it's highly recommended that you disable all of these features whenever they are not in use in order to increase the battery performance.

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap the "Bluetooth" switch and set it to "OFF"
  4. Tap the "Wi-Fi" switch to turn off the feature
  5. From the "Settings" menu, tap "Location"
  6. Tap the "Location" switch and set it to "OFF"

Change the Sync Settings of Apps:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and select the desired account
  3. Tap the account name at the top of the screen
  4. From the "Sync" screen, clear as many check boxes as possible to reduce the number of apps that auto-sync

Disabling Background Data:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Data usage"
  3. Press "Menu" and mark the "Restrict background data" check box

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications that run processes in the background can affect your phone's battery performance even if you don't use them. As such, it's recommended that you disable or remove apps that you don't use. To do so:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Apps"
  3. Select the application you wish to remove or disable
  4. Tap "Disable" to turn off the app
  5. To completely remove the app, tap "Uninstall"

Switching from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap "Settings" > "More…"
  3. Tap "Mobile networks" > "Network operators"
  4. Tap "Select manually" and press "OK"
  5. Select a 2G mobile network

Update the Android OS:

NOTE: Software updates can sometimes include fixes and improvements to battery life, so it's recommended that you keep your smartphone up to date. To check for updates on the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2:

  1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "About phone"
  3. Tap "System updates"
  4. Tap "Check now". If an update is available, follow any additional prompts to download and install it

NOTE: If no update is available, then following the steps above will have no effect on your phone's battery performance
