WARNING! Master resetting your smartphone will return all settings to factory values and will result in the deletion of all personal data stored on the phone's internal memory, including apps, contacts, images, custom ringtones, downloaded content etc. Master resetting does not affect data stored on the SD and SIM cards.

NOTE: Before applying the factory reset, you should consider backing up your data, if you haven't already. Visit this thread for a guide on how you can back up your data on the Alcatel OneTOuch Evolve 2.

    Master Reset via Settings Menu:

    1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    2. Swipe to "Personal" and then tap "Backup & reset"
    3. Under "Personal Data", tap "Factory data reset"
    4. Tap "Reset phone" > "Erase everything"

Master Reset using Hardware Keys (Recovery Menu):

NOTE: Use this method of resetting in case your smartphone crashes, freezes or otherwise prevents you from applying the factory reset via the settings menu as explained above.

    1. Turn off your smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Volume up" buttons at the same time
    3. When the first menu screen appears, release the hardware keys
    4. Use the "Volume" keys to highlight a language from the menu and press "Power" to select it
    5. Press "Volume Down" to navigate to and highlight "wipe data / factory reset"
    6. Press "Power"
    7. Highlight "Yes -- delete all user data" using "Volume down", and press "Power" again
    8. Your smartphone will now apply the reset and it will reboot in normal mode

    Checking for Software Updates:

NOTE: Once you factory reset your smartphone, all previous software updates will also be lost. As such, it's recommended that you check for software updates shortly after the reset. To do so:

    1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "System" and then tap "About phone"
    4. Tap "System Updates" > "Check for updates"
    5. Tap "Continue"
    6. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it. Otherwise, you will receive a message saying that "Your software is up to date"
