Using iTunes Sync and a Google Account:
NOTE: If you have access to iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can use the app to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Afterwards you can sync the account data with the Maxwest phone.
- Connect the iPhone to your computer using the Lightning cable
- Launch iTunes, and click the iPhone
- Access the Info tab and enable Sync Contacts With
- From the drop-down menu, select Google Contacts
- Sign in with your Google account or, as if applicable, click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply and wait for the sync to complete
- Switch to the Maxwest device, register the same Google account and set it to sync contacts with your phone
Export iPhone Contacts from iCloud:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use. Then you can transfer and import the contact on the Astro X55.
- Open the Internet browser on the PC
- Go to https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
- Access Contacts and select the contacts you wish to share
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- After the vCard is downloaded, you can perform one of the following steps:
- Import the file to Google Contacts
- Connect the Maxwest device to your computer via USB, copy the file to the phones storage and use the Contacts application to import its content to your phonebook
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: Although the methods above require computer access, alternatively you can transfer your contacts using third party applications instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up iPhone contacts and transfer them via email.
- Open the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Launch the app
- Tap Backup. This will create a backup file containing your iPhone contacts
- Once the file is created, tap Email
- Send the email containing the vCard backup attachment to your own address
- Switch to the Maxwest Astro X55 and open the email
- Download the attached vCard file and import it using the default Contacts app
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is one of many other apps you can use to transfer contacts. This particular app uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer content, including, but not limited to contacts.
- Open the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- On the Maxwest, visit the Google Play Store and install the same app
- Open the application on both smartphones
- Tap Send > Contacts on the iPhone
- Select the contacts you want to share and tap Send
- Lastly, you will need to select a transfer method. For example, you can tap Generate QR Code on the iPhone, or tap Receive on the Maxwest and manually enter the transfer code from the iPhone
