I want a pda phone simply for the calendars, but dont want to pay an extra $30 a month for internet that I wont use or can afford. I currently have verizon an I know they wont do it. Are there any providers that allow having a PDA phone without a data plan!?

Check out this link. bwparker1 has some good advice. He is using the iPhone with Pure Talk. Says it works. Im going to try it ASAP because I already use Pure Talk. No data plan with an iphone is exactly what i need. You can use the calendar and everything else. And as long as you have wifi you will have data. Its pretty much the iTouch with the ability to talk on it. Plans are cheap with Pure Talk. Free SIM.

Sorry I cant post the link just search for Pure Talk then go down to bwparker1. I dont have enough posts to include a link yet.

FuzionMobile.com is the service that allows you to use a PDA with WIFI without having to pay for data.
You get unlimited talk and text for $49.95...no contracts or credit checks...and the sell PDAs...it is ideal for you.

If you use any smart phone (pda or whatever) with a prepaid network you don't need a data plan. You don't get a subsidized phone, but many of the networks have fairly cheap Android phones that surely have all the PDA functions you need.

Pure TalkUSA has been mentioned... also many others that use the ATT network such as StraightTalk. You just need a compatible phone. If it started as an ATT phone you don't even need to get it unlocked. Also, t-mobile prepaid you can BYO phone and don't need a data plan... $30 for 1500 minutes or texts (it does include a token 30MB data). There are much cheaper services if you don't need many minutes either, starting around $10/month.
