Hi everyone!

I will be moving from Canada to the US for 4 months in August, and I'm trying to see what my options are regarding cellphone plans. I will mostly be texting from the US to the US, and sometimes from the US to Canada.

Would it be best to buy a phone here in Canada, and to get an international plan for the 4 months I'll spend in the US? Or should I just buy a phone in the US, knowing that I'd like to keep using it when I move back to Canada? I've read a few articles about SIM cards, would that be a viable option? If so, am I supposed to buy a phone that's already unlocked, or to do it myself? In short, what's my best bet?

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry if my questions seem basic.. I've never had a cellphone, so all this stuff is pretty new to me! Thank you so much!
