Sending a Message:

  1. Tap the "Messaging" icon located on the home screen. (If it's missing, you can find it in the "All Apps" list)
  2. To create a new message, tap the "Compose" icon located in the lower-left corner of the display
  3. Tap the "To" field and enter your recipient's phone number. Note: if the contact is already saved in your contacts list, you can type in the name and select the recipient from the drop-down menu that appears
  4. Tap the "Type Message" field and enter the desired message
  5. When ready, press the "Send" icon located in the lower-right corner of the screen

Sending a Multimedia Message:

  1. Tap the "Messaging" icon located on the home screen
  2. Press the "Compose" icon located in the lower-left corner of the display
  3. Enter your recipient's name or phone number in the "To" field
  4. Tap the "Attachment" icon depicting a paperclip (top-right corner)
  5. Select the desired file type (in this example we'll use "Pictures")
  6. Tap the desired album and select the image that you wish to attach
  7. Optionally, type in a message in the message field and then press "Send" when ready

To Read a Text Message:

  1. Open the "Messaging" app
  2. Tap the desired message thread
  3. Browse through the messages

Saving a Picture from a Multimedia Message:

  1. Access the "Messaging" application
  2. Select the message thread that contains the attachment
  3. Tap and hold the preferred message
  4. Select "Save attachment"

Forwarding a Message:

  1. Tap the "Messaging" app located on the home screen (or app drawer)
  2. Select the message thread containing the message that you wish to forward
  3. Tap and hold the desired message
  4. Press "Forward"
  5. In the "To" field, type in the phone number or name of the recipient
  6. Optionally you can edit the "Message" field as you desire
  7. Press the "Send" icon located in the lower-right corner of the display

Updating Emergency Alert Settings:

  1. Access the "Messaging" application
  2. Press the "Menu" key on your device
  3. Select "Settings"
  4. Tap "Emergency Alerts"
  5. Mark or unmark the checkboxes associated with the desired type of alerts, such as "Amber" or "Imminent Threat"

Note: Presidential Alerts are enabled by default and can't be disabled
