Enabling Battery Saving Mode:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Wireless & Networks" and tap "MaxiMZR"
  4. Tap the "MaxiMZR" switch and set it to "ON"
  5. To see what applications are affected by MaxiMZR, tap "Apps"

Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Scroll to "Device" and tap "Battery"
  4. Tap "Brightness" and drag the slider to the left to decrease brightness
  5. Press "OK" and tap "Screen timeout"
  6. Select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS:

NOTE: Your smartphone's connectivity features can have a negative impact your phone's battery life, especially when they search for networks, devices to pair etc. As such, it's highly recommended that you keep these connectivity features disabled whenever they are not in use.

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Tap "Mobile HotSpot" and clear the "Mobile HotSpot" check box
  4. Press "Back" to return to the "Settings" menu
  5. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Location access"
  6. Clear the check box next to "GPS satellites"
  7. Return to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
  8. Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" icons to disable these features

Changing App Sync Settings:

NOTE: If you set your smartphone to sync less data (or less often), this can save battery life on the long run. To do so:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Accounts & sync"
  3. Clear the check box associated with "Auto-Sync data"
  4. To adjust more sync settings for each app, select the desired application

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "mobile data"
  3. Tap "Menu" and mark the "Restrict background data" check box

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone's battery life even when you are not using them, assuming of course that they run processes in the background. To prevent this from happening, it's recommended that you disable or uninstall apps that you don't use.

  1. Tap "Apps" and go to "Settings"
  2. Scroll to "Device"
  3. Tap "Apps" and select the desired application
  4. Tap "Disable" to turn off the app. To completely remove it, tap "Uninstall" instead

Switching from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: using 2G connectivity over 4G can help you squeeze more life out of your phone's battery, so if you need to conserve energy then you may want to use 2G until you are once again able to recharge your phone.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Tap "Mobile networks" under "Network Settings"
  4. Mark the "Use only 2G networks" check box. To return to 4G, clear the check box

Keeping Your Smartphone Up to Date:

NOTE: Manufacturers launch new software updates now and again, and sometimes these updates include fixes or improvements to battery life. As such, it's recommended that you keep your handset up to date. To check for software updates:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Swipe down to "System" and tap "About phone"
  4. Tap "System updates"
  5. Press "Check now" and if necessary, follow any additional on-screen steps to download and install the available software updates
