Using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes installed on a computer with Internet access you can use the software to sync the contacts stored on your iPhone with your Google account. Then you can re-sync the contacts from the account with your Kyocera phone. To do so:

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. After it connects click the phone to view the summary page
  4. Access the “Info” tab
  5. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  6. Register our Google account in iTunes, or if you have already done so you can click “Configure” and select an account from the list
  7. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  8. Lastly, register the same Google account on the Kyocera Hydro Wave and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Via iCloud:

NOTE: In case you have used the iCloud backup service on the iPhone before then your contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. You can access it on a computer with Internet access, and export the contacts for Android use

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Click “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to export
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Once the file is downloaded on the computer, import it to “Google Contacts” or alternatively:
  7. Connect the Kyocera Hydro Wave to your computer via US and transfer the VCF file to the phone’s storage. Next, open the “Contacts” application, press “Menu” > “import / Export” > Import from SD card” > “Import one VCard file”. Select the VCF file and tap “OK”

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: The methods above require access to a computer, however you can transfer your contacts without one too, by using dedicated third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that allows users to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Open the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on your iPhone
  2. Launch the application
  3. Tap “Backup” and wait for the VCF file to be created
  4. Once done, tap “Email” to compose a new email and attach the VCF file to it
  5. Send the email to your Gmail address
  6. Switch to the Kyocera device and open the email, then download the attached vCard file
  7. Open “Contacts” and import the VCF file using the “Import” function from the app’s menu

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Last but not least you can use Send Anywhere to transfer your contacts. Send Anywhere is a third party app that can be used to transfer contacts and other file types over a peer-to-peer connection without needing a computer.

  1. Open the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
  2. Launch the Google Play Store and install the app on the Kyocera too
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  5. Tap “Send” and select the desired transfer method. Tapping “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone will create a code that can be scanned with the Kyocera’s camera to begin the transfer. Optionally you can also tap “Receive” on the Kyocera, and manually enter the transfer code from the iPhone
