Back Up App Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Swipe to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset
- If necessary, sign in with your Google account by tapping Backup account > Add account
- Enable Back up my data to back up Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and settings to your Google account
- Enable Automatic restore to allow app data to be restored automatically upon reinstallation
NOTE: Data backed up on your account will be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.
Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts
- If necessary, sign in with your Google account
- Tap your email address at the top of the screen
- Make sure Contacts is selected
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above will be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your Google account.
Back Up Contacts to Storage:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu > Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card or Export to storage
- Use the default backup location or select a different one
- Tap OK
Back Up Media Files
Via Photos:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Photos
- Perform one of the following:
- In case this is the first time opening the app, tap Sign in and log in with your account. Then, tap to back up data over Wi-Fi + mobile networks, or Wi-Fi only and tap Turn on
- In case you have already used Photos before, tap Menu > Settings > Auto Backup and enable the option
On a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Kyocera Hydro View and PC
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Enable Media device(MTP)
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
- Paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Using a Mac Computer:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
- Download and install androidfiletransfer.dmg
- Drag Android File Transfer to Applications
- Use the USB cord to connect the Kyocera phone to your Mac
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down and ensure Media sync (MTP) is selected
- Open Android File Transfer on the Mac
- Locate the desired media files and use drag & drop to transfer them
- After the transfer is done, drag the phones virtual drive into Trash can and safely disconnect the device from the USB
