Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup and reset”
  5. If necessary, sign in with your Google account by tapping “Backup account” > “Add account”
  6. Enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and settings to your Google account
  7. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically upon reinstallation

NOTE: Data backed up on your account will be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.

Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Accounts”
  4. If necessary, sign in with your Google account
  5. Tap your email address at the top of the screen
  6. Make sure “Contacts” is selected
  7. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above will be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your Google account.

Back Up Contacts to Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  3. Tap “Export to SD card” or “Export to storage”
  4. Use the default backup location or select a different one
  5. Tap “OK”

Back Up Media Files

Via “Photos”:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Photos”
  3. Perform one of the following:
    • In case this is the first time opening the app, tap “Sign in” and log in with your account. Then, tap to back up data over Wi-Fi + mobile networks, or “Wi-Fi only” and tap “Turn on”
    • In case you have already used “Photos” before, tap “Menu” > “Settings” > “Auto Backup” and enable the option

On a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Kyocera Hydro View and PC
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  3. Enable “Media device(MTP)”
  4. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  5. Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
  6. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
  7. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB

Using a Mac Computer:

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Head down to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
  3. Download and install “androidfiletransfer.dmg”
  4. Drag “Android File Transfer” to “Applications”
  5. Use the USB cord to connect the Kyocera phone to your Mac
  6. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down and ensure “Media sync (MTP)” is selected
  7. Open “Android File Transfer” on the Mac
  8. Locate the desired media files and use drag & drop to transfer them
  9. After the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive into “Trash can” and safely disconnect the device from the USB
