Enabling and Managing Battery Saving Mode:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "System settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Battery"
- Tap "Power saver"
- Tap "Turn Power saver on"
- Select the battery percentage at which the Saver mode should enable
- Mark or clear the check boxes next to the features that you wish to be enabled / disabled during battery saver mode, such as "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" etc.
- You can access additional settings for categories like "Brightness" and "Front touch key light" by tapping the "settings" icon associated with them
Adjusting the Screen Timeout and Lowering the Brightness:
- Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
- Tap "System settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Display"
- Select "Brightness"
- Tap and hold the brightness slider, and slide it to the left
- Tap "OK" > "Screen timeout"
- Select "15 seconds" or a lower value than the current one
Disabling Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Hotspot and GPS:
NOTE: if you wish to maximize battery life on your device, then it's highly recommended that you disable all connectivity features when they're not in use. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are very demanding on the battery when left unchecked.
- Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
- Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
- Tap "Mobile Hotspot"
- Clear the check box associated with "Mobile HotSpot"
- Press the "Back" key until you return to the "Settings" menu
- From there, tap "Location access" under "Personal"
- Clear the check box next to "GPS satellites"
- Go back to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
- Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" switches to disable these features
Change the Application Sync Settings:
- Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
- Tap "System settings"
- Select "Accounts & sync" under "Personal"
- Clear the check box associated with "Auto-sync data"
- To reduce syncing for each individual app, tap it
Disabling Background Data:
- From any home screen, press "Menu"
- Tap "System settings" > "Mobile data"
- Press the "Menu" button
- Mark the "Restrict background data" check box
Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:
- Press "Menu" while on a home screen
- Tap "System settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Apps"
- Choose the application that you wish to edit
- Tap "Disable" to turn off the app. NOTE: you can also tap "Uninstall" if you want to completely remove the app
Switching between 4G and 2G Connectivity:
- From any home screen, press "Menu"
- Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
- Under "Network settings", tap "Mobile networks"
- Mark the check box next to "Use only 2G networks". To return to 4G, clear the check box
Updating to the Most Recent Software Version:
NOTE: Following the steps below will give results only if LG has launched a new software update that improves battery life on your phone. Otherwise, performing these steps will give no results.
- From the home screen, press "Menu" and tap "System settings"
- Under "System", tap "About phone"
- Tap "System updates" > "Check now"
- Follow the on-screen prompts, assuming that a new firmware is available. If not, return to the home screen
