Clearing an Application's Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications isn't working as intended, it crashes, freezes etc. then you might be able to fix this behavior by clearing the application's cache or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal data stored within the application, including saved games, settings, log in and credit card details, profiles etc. That being said, it's recommended that you first try fixing these issues by clearing the app's cache first. Unlike wiping the data, clearing the cache will not delete any personal information.

  1. While viewing one of the home screens, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings" and swipe to the "General" tab
  3. Tap "Apps' and then select the desired application
  4. Tap "Clear cache"
  5. If clearing the cache hasn't solved the issues, tap "Clear data" too and then press "OK"

Wiping the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone is not working correctly and you're considering master resetting it, then you might be able to fix these issues by wiping the phone's cache partition. Unlike a master reset, clearing the cache will not result in the deletion of personal data stored on the internal memory. To clear the phone's cache partition:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and access the "General" tab
  3. Tap "Storage" and wait for your smartphone to calculate the amount of data
  4. Tap "Cached data" and press "OK"
  5. Wait for the cache to be wiped - this may take a few seconds or several minutes to complete, depending on the amount of cached data on your device
  6. After the process ends, no data should be listed and "Cached data" under the "Storage" menu should appear as "Calculating…"

NOTE: In case your smartphone still acts up and doesn't work as intended after the cache wipe, then you might have to factory reset it. To learn how you can master reset the LG G3 Vigor, visit this link for a full guide.
