WARNING! Factory resetting your phone will lead to the deletion of all your personal data stored on the phones internal memory, this includes media files, applications, contacts, downloaded content etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values. However, data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be deleted.
NOTE: Before you master reset the LG X Cam, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up data, and this thread for a guide on how to restore data.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- While on the home screen, swipe the Notification bar down
- Tap Settings in the upper-right corner
- Go to General
- Tap Backup & reset
- Clear or check Back up my data and Automatic restore
- Tap Backup account and, if necessary, select or sign in with your Google account
- Tap Factory data reset
- Select whether to Erase SD card too. WARNING by enabling this option, all data stored on the SD card will be permanently deleted during the factory reset
- Tap Reset phone > Next
- Tap Delete all
- Press OK to confirm
Factory Reset via Recovery (Hardware Buttons):
NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesnt allow you to reset it via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from the System Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses.
- First, make sure your phone is turned off
- Press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- When the LG logo appears, quickly release and re-hold Power
- Once you gain access to the Factory data reset screen, release the hardware buttons
- From the recovery menu, press Volume down repeatedly to navigate to and highlight Yes
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- At the Erase all user data and restore default settings prompt, press Volume down to highlight Yes
- Press Power once again to confirm the selection and reset the phone
Check for OS Updates:
NOTE: Once you reset the phone, its recommended to verify if newer software updates are available for download. To do this:
- Swipe the Notification bar down on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Tap General > About phone
- Tap Software info
- Check if a new software version is available, and if necessary, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it
