Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your applications doesnt work as intended, crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all personal data stored within the app, such as profiles, settings, high scores, saved games, login and credit card information will be lost. To avoid losing personal data, clear only the apps cache.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab if necessary
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Apps
- Go to Downloaded or All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > Yes (read WARNING above)
Wipe the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, or runs out of storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these problems by wiping the devices cache partition. This can yield similar results as a factory reset, without losing any personal data stored on the internal memory.
- Go to Settings
- If necessary, access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Storage
- After the device finishes calculating data, tap Clear data > Yes
NOTE: If clearing the cache didnt help solving the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the phone instead.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If you have installed a third party app on your phone that causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default.
- Wake the screen if necessary
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- At the Restart in safe mode prompt, tap OK to confirm
- After the phone restarts, you should see a Safe Mode label in the lower-left corner of the home screen
- Next, open Settings and go to General
- Scroll to Phone management
- Tap Apps and access Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- If you want to exit safe mode, simply press and hold Power and reboot your phone as you normally would
