Turn On Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery saver and set the switch to ON
- You can also select a battery percentage at which the mode can turn on automatically
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Under Connectivity, tap Tethering
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and disable the option
- Go back to Settings and tap the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switches OFF
- Tap Location under Personal for more GPS options
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving (Networks only)
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery life, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- If necessary, access the Networks tab
- Tap More under Connectivity
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- If necessary, access the Display tab
- Tap Brightness" under Basic settings
- Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value
Disable Smart Settings Unused at Home:
- Go to Settings
- From the General tab, scroll to Smart functions
- Tap Smart settings to enable or disable the option
Adjust Video Quality in Games:
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Battery & Power saving
- Turn off Game optimizer
Change Sync Settings to Reduce Sync:
NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings and access the General tab
- Scroll to Personal and access Accounts & sync
- Optionally, turn off Auto-sync data
- Scroll to Accounts and select an account or app
- Change the desired sync settings to reduce sync
Disable Background Data:
- Launch Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data > Menu
- Turn on Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and as such they can affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By turning off or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Apps and go to Downloaded
- Tap and hold the desired app
- Tap Disable / Force stop to disable the app, or:
- Tap Uninstall to remove the app from the phone
