Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
I hope it's okay to ask here, wasn't sure where to post this. I just noticed that I now have mobile web on my phone. It said in order to use this I need to sign up for it. Will this cost me extra? Or will it be part of my plan, I have the unlimited, unlimited plan. Thanks.

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
I have the Nokia 3586i phone, and the "unlimited" plan with metroPCS. I recently bought a data-cable on ebay (dku-5?) and have installed the nokia software suite on my xp pc. however the phone and pc are not able to communicate.
is there something specific that I need to do (different cable/ different software/ different pc settings) for them to communicate, or do I need to "unlock" something on the phone? or is it just not possible with this phone?

Hi, I currently have the A645. I recently found a Kyocera Strobe in great shape and was wondering if I would be able to switch to that phone on my account. And would there be an fee?

Software for Nokia 3586i download link

Note that with some Nokia software, it's possible that you have to have WinXP SP2 or Win2000 SP4, and that it's not possible to work without the ServicePack, just see the documentation.

Internet on the notebook with MetroWEB and 6265 as a modem?
Hi everyone,
I don't know if maybe it's a stupid question.
With T-Mobile's Internet-Only option for 29.95, combined with a regular plan (like Get More for 39.95), and a respective phone like the Nokia 6133, it's possible to access the Internet from a notebook using the USB cable or even Bluetooth connection and the 6133 as an EDGE modem.
One can surf as much as one likes to, without limits.
So is it possible to do the same thing with MetroPCS and their MetroWeb option and a 6265 as a modem?
I already searched for an answer to this question, but I did not quite find one.
Thanks in advance for any help,

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
I have been with Metro PCS in Atlanta for about 4 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am now on the $50 plan where everything is included and unlimited....e-mail, web, text, picture text, long distance and local.
Can you tell me which Metro phones have actual ringtones instead of midi tones? On the PCS website, they only mention 2 phones that have MP3 player in them, but none mention the type ringtones they play.

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
Alright, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me out here. I got a nokia 6265i from a friend for 150 dollars. I activated it, got a signal and everything, but when i try to call anyone, i hear no dial tone and it doesn't ring, it just says calling....I don't really wanna throw the phone back in his face and was hoping I can get it repaired, or this is only a minor issue. Any help would be nice, thank you.

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
Sounds like you aren't in a good area for reception. Mine does that only when my reception is bad.

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
hello
i'm on a verge of buying my own phone and service for the 1st time lol (my old ph - my parents bought it and the service). i've kinda decided on the Panasonic G51M coz it's small/cute (i dont want a flip ph even if its small, coz it wont look small anymore once you flip it lol), and im also thinking of going with Metro PCS for my service.
alot of my friends have it too, but some of them aren't happy with it. One of em told me that it constantly drops her calls, and that her text messages sometimes wont go through until the next day, and that if she goes out of state there's no coverage areas so she cant use her ph.
im a huge text person, and so its important for my texts to go through right away. i was wondering if mpcs will be able to work w/ this phone? i think its a gsm tho, so i dunno. i wanted to know everyones opinion of it before i decided on mpcs.
one thing i liked about it tho is that you dont have to sign any contacts and its pretty affordable. are there any other providers out there where u dont have to sign contracts?

Google Maps On the Metro PCS Nokia 6265(i)
The first step might be the hardest one. You need to first get Diego
and get it to connect with a cable.
Then in Diego to Phone Settings, and click Read ALL From Phone, make
sure to save a backup to a file. Then go down to PRI ID Settings >
Generic Features > Middleware > Java (J2ME) > Java Settings.
In there you will see two important options, one is Java OTA
Downloading, Enable that to allow downloads of jar and jad files. And
change the Java Configuration to "Option 5 - Java Configuration 5"
somehow that option allows GMM to work.
After that click Write ALL To Phone, you will see a progress window,
when it disappears, the phone should have a blank screen with two
words (Recovery Mode or something), click again on Write ALL To Phone.
Once the phone comes back to live go to Google Maps on
the minibrowser, and download the program, and enjoy.
Maybe you also need to change some options for the app. Select the app
in the gallery, press Options > Application Settings > Communication >
Network Access > Always allowed.
I hope these were the only two required options, since I might have
changed something else, and don't remember it. Also all this stuff
might break your phone, you are on your own. It might go against
MetroPCS policies, and might get the phone out of warranty when these
changes are made. I'm not responsible for anything that happens due to
this post or its actions.

Hey, I have Metro and I was wondering how I can get a blackberry to work under Metro? I don't like their phones, I currently have the strobe, so I wanted to get a black berry.
