I don't even have my Droid 2 yet, should be here Tuesday. I downloaded the manual, there is absolutely no mention of voice dial. If you look at the specs it says that it has it. Is anyone here using it. Could you please tell me how? I know (well, I read) Android 2.2 has voice dial with Bluetooth. But how do you do it? The phone would be useless to me if I can't do that. I may have to get the Incredible, the voice capability on it sounds fantastic.

Re: Voice dialling on the Droid 2?
Yes it integrates with google search and it works very well... Be advised the cleaner and better your contacts are the better it works... I can voice dial and it recognized very well if you almost imitate the old voicedial robot voice from older phones.. Monotone... like: "Call John Public Mobile..." It dials instantly...

Re: Voice dialling on the Droid 2?
Thanks. Makes me look forward to the phone a little more. I have another question. Can I voice dial just a number? A number that is not in contacts.

Re: Voice dialling on the Droid 2?
To be honest I have never tried that... My contact list is huge since I got a USB cord for my old Samsung A640... I was Anal about my contact list... But I have never tried to voice dial a blind number...

Oh Also Bear in mind.. By default the droid will sync with G-mail which made backing up my contacts a breeze.. Currently mine synchronizes phone numbers/contacts with G-mail, my exchange server, and facebook. Works pretty well..

Re: Voice dialling on the Droid 2?
Yeah, I'm pretty particular about my contact list too. Got my gmail account a few days ago.
So, got the phone today. Charged it and activated it. Activation took aver 1/2 hour, should have suspected a problem then. I activated a phone (my roommate's), that took less than 5 minutes. So the the droid wants me to set up accounts. Got the gmail account set up with no problems. Tried to set up my facebook account, Motorola's "Yes I agree" button refused to work. Turned phone off, waited a little, turned it back on. The menu button does not work, no way to get into settings. Try to turn the phone off, it won't turn off.
Guess I got a defective one....you think? I ordered it at Verizon's online store, but I will take it to the local Verizon store to see what they say. Oh, the camera button does absolutely nothing . I'm pretty sure it's going back. So now I'll have to decide whether to get another Droid 2 or go ahead and get the X.
