I just got myself a couple of car chargers for my l6 and wanted to know if its OK to leave it in the cigarette lighter socket and have its light glowing even if the phone is not connected to the charger?

Mine is plugged in all the time and I have not seen a problem yet.

Shouldn't be a problem, unless this is a car with a really bad battery and even worse charging system, and you have to jump the car off every time you want to drive somewhere.
I have always left my car chargers plugged in. So far the only car that every had a problem was the one that the battery was stolen out of.
