Backing up Apps

1. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
2. Then tap Settings -> scroll down to and tap backup -> touch app list + settings -> touch the Backup switch to turn it on and if necessary, sign in to your Microsoft account.
3. Finally, tap back up now.

Backing up Contacts

Whenever you save a contact you will be asked to select one of your online accounts where it should be saved. For example: Google or Hotmail. To view where a contact was saved follow the steps:

1. From the Start screen, tap the People tile.
2. Then select the contact you wish to view.
3. The contact information is located in the upper-left corner. For example, a contact saved to a Microsoft account will say Microsoft account.

Backing up Media and Pictures

1. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
2. Then tap Photos -> navigate to and select the image you want to send and touch the More icon -> then tap save to SkyDrive.
3. You can also enter a caption or tap add tag and follow the onscreen prompts to add a tag.
4. Finally, tap the Send icon.

Note: You will need to be located in a Microsoft account in order to back up files to SkyDrive.
