Restoring Applications:

  1. If necessary, register your Google account on your Neo
  2. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  3. Tap "Settings" and access the "Accounts" tab
  4. Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
  5. Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
  6. Mark / Clear the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

Restoring Contacts

Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "Accounts" tab
  4. Select "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account you've used to back up your contacts
  5. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
  6. Mark the "Sync contacts" check box. If the box is already checked, tap "Sync now"

Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

  1. Launch the "Contacts" application
  2. From the app, tap the "Contacts" tab
  3. Press "Menu" and select "Import / Export"
  4. Tap "Import from SD card"
  5. Choose the desired account to import the contacts to
  6. Tap "Import vCard file" > "OK"
  7. Select the desired backup file and tap "OK" to confirm

Restoring Media Files

Restoring Media Files from the SD Card:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Tap "My Files" > "All files" > "SD card"
  3. Locate the files backed up on the SD card
  4. Tap and hold the file that you wish to restore
  5. Select "Move". The device will now display the available memory location. To move the file to a different location than the ones suggested, you can tap "Create new" or tap the folder name
  6. Tap "Move here"

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect your SIII Neo to your PC via USB
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
  3. On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" in the AutoPlay window
  4. Open a new Windows Explorer window, and navigate to where you've backed up the files
  5. Copy the desired files, and paste them on your phone's storage. NOTE: the "Card" icon represents the phone's external memory, whereas the "Phone" icon corresponds to the internal storage
  6. Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your handset from the computer

Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your smartphone and Mac via USB
  2. On the Neo, swipe the "notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the "Media device" check box
  4. Launch Samsung Kies on the Mac
  5. In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab, and then click the "Restore" tab
  6. Next, mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" or any other type of file that you wish to restore. Alternatively, mark the "Select all items" check box
  7. Click "Restore", and follow any additional prompts if they appear
  8. Once the process is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
