    Transferring Contacts via iTunes:

Using iTunes you can transfer contacts stored on the iPhone to a Google account. Once that step is done, the contacts stored on the Google account can be synced with your Android smartphone - or in this case the Galaxy Alpha. This method requires access to a computer with Internet connection and iTunes installed.

    1. Open iTunes on the computer
    2. Connect the iPhone to your computer using the proprietary USB cable
    3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes
    4. Click the iPhone to view its summary page, and go to the "Info" tab
    5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
    6. Select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
    7. Register the Google account you wish to sync contacts to. If the contact was previously added in iTunes, you can click "Configure" to select it from the list
    8. Click "Apply" to commence the syncing process
    9. On the Galaxy Alpha, sign in with the account used in iTunes, and allow the contact to sync contacts with your Android device

    Using iCloud for Contact Transfer:

Assuming that you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone, prior to following this guide, then chances are that your iPhone contacts are already stored on your iCloud account. By signing in to it using a computer with Internet access, you can export these backed up contacts for use on an Android device. This method requires access to a computer with Internet connection:

    1. Open the Internet browser on your computer
    2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
    3. Click "Contacts" and choose the contacts you wish to export
    4. Click the cog wheel button located in the bottom-left area
    5. Select "Export vCard" and a VCF backup file will be downloaded on your PC
    6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, skip this step and instead:
    7. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Alpha to your computer via USB. Then, transfer the VCF file to the phone's storage. Next, using the "Contacts" app, tap "Menu" > "Settings" > "Contacts" > "Import / Export" and follow any additional steps to complete the contact import

    Using "My Contacts Backup":

The two methods described above require access to a computer, but there are ways and means of transferring contacts without needing a PC. For this we need a third party application, such as My Contacts Backup. This is an iOS app that can back up your iPhone contacts and send them to another phone via email. To do so:

    1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
    2. Launch the app and tap "Backup"
    3. After the file is created, tap "Email" and attach it to a new email
    4. Send the email to your own Gmail address
    5. Switch to the Alpha and open the email
    6. Download the attached vCard file
    7. Import the VCF file's contents using the "Contacts" app and the "Import" function

    Using "Send Anywhere":

Finally, you can use "Send Anywhere" to transfer contacts. This is an iOS and Android application that uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and other types of files cross-platform. As such, computer access is not required for this method.

    1. Go to the App Store and install "Send Anywhere" on the iPhone
    2. From the Google Play Store, install the app on your Galaxy Alpha
    3. Launch the app on both smartphones
    4. From the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
    5. Mark the contacts you wish to share and then tap "Send"
    6. Finally, choose the desired transfer method. By tapping "Receive" on the Galaxy Alpha, you can enter the transfer code randomly generated on the iPhone to commence the transfer. Alternatively, tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone, and scan the code with the Alpha's camera to commence the transfer process
