Transfer Audio Files
From a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 to your computer via USB
- Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on your computer
- Copy the files and transfer them in the first Windows Explorer window on the phone storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and disconnect it from the PC
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Kies is already installed on your Mac
- Launch the Internet explorer on the Mac and visit Kies
- Click "Download for Mac OS"
- Follow the on-screen steps to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Xcover 3 to the Mac via USB
- Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Enable "Media device (MTP)"
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory" or "Internal memory"
- Use the file explorer to locate the desired audio files on your Mac
- Drag the files and drop them in Kies
- Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect the smartphone by first ejecting the storage
Ringtones and Notifications
Add Audio Files in the Ringtone List:
- Press "Menu" on the home screen
- Access "Settings" and go to "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Tap "Add"
- Select "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
- Tap "Always" or "Just once"
- Select the desired audio files and tap "OK"
Add Audio Files to the Notification List:
- Tap "Apps" > "My Files"
- Tap "All files"
- Locate the desired audio files then tap and hold them
- Tap "Copy" > "Device storage"
- Navigate to and open the "Notifications" directory
- Tap "Paste here"
Change Ringtones and Notification Sounds
Change the Ringtone for All Calls:
- Press "Menu" on the home screen
- Go to "Settings"
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Select a ringtone and tap "OK"
Change a Contact's Ringtone:
NOTE: You can't set custom ringtones on contacts stored on the SIM card or the internal storage
- Launch the "Contacts" app
- Select the desired contact and tap "Edit" > "Ringtone"
- Choose a ringtone and tap "OK"
- Tap "Save" to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
- Tap "OK"
