    Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Galaxy A8 to your computer via USB
    2. If necessary drag the “Status” bar down and tap “Connected as a media device” > “Media device (MTP)”
    3. In the AutoPlay window on the computer double-click “Open device to view files using Windows Explorer”
    4. Open a second Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on your computer
    5. Copy the files and paste them on your phone memory (first Explorer window, preferably in the “Notifications” / “Ringtones” folders)
    6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB connector

    Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:

    NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac

    1. Open the Internet explorer on the Mac and visit Kies
    2. Click “Download for Mac OS” and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
    3. Connect the Galaxy A8 to the computer via USB
    4. If necessary, enable “Media device (MTP)” from the status area
    5. Launch Kies on the Mac
    6. Inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” (or “External memory”). Alternatively click the “Music” folder
    7. Open a file explorer window and locate the desired audio files on the Mac
    8. Drag the files and drop them in Kies
    9. After the process is complete, eject the phone’s storage by dragging it’s virtual drive to the “trash can” icon, and safely disconnect it from the Mac

    Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

    1. On the phone, tap “Apps” from the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Sounds and notifications”
    4. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sound”
    5. Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone”
    6. Select “Sound picker” > “Always” or “Just once”
    7. Tap the desired audio files and press “Done”

    Change the Phone’s Ringtone:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Sounds and notifications”
    4. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sound”
    5. Tap “Ringtone” and select the one you want to use
    6. Tap “back” and the changes will be saved automatically

    Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

    NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts stored on the phone memory or the SIM card

    1. Open “Contacts”
    2. Select the desired contact
    3. Tap “Edit” (pencil icon)
    4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired one
    5. Tap “OK” > “Save”

    Change the Notification Sound:

    1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Under “Device”, tap “Sounds and notifications”
    3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sound”
    4. Select the desired notification type and the notification sound
    5. Tap “back” to save the changes
