Back Up Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up Wi-Fi passwords, settings, and other account data
- To allow data to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account, enable Automatic restore
Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:
- Launch Settings
- Tap Accounts and select Google
- Choose the Google account you want to use for syncing your contacts
- Make sure Contacts is checked and then tap More > Sync Now
Back Up Contacts to Storage / SD Card:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Applications > Contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts > Export
- Select to export contacts to Storage or SD Card
- Make sure you remember the backup file name for future reference and tap OK
Back Up Media Files on the SD Card:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch My Files
- Tap Device storage under Local storage
- Tap More > Edit
- Locate the media files you want to back up
- Tick the boxes next to the desired media files you want to back up
- Tap More > Copy > SD Card
- Tap Create folder or navigate to a different backup location
- Tap Paste here
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy On Nxt to your computer using the USB cord
- Turn on Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Using the Explorer, locate the media files on your phone and copy them
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, you should skip the first 3 steps below:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on the Mac
- Establish a USB connection between the phone and Mac
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or form Notification
- Launch Kies on the Mac and access the Back up / restore tab
- Go to the Backup tab
- Select Music, Photos, and other media file types you want to back up
- Click Backup and wait for the process to complete
- After the backup is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the Trash can
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
