Transferring Contacts via a Google Account:

You can easily transfer your contacts from one phone to another by using Google's ability to sync data. In a nutshell, you can sync the contacts from the Galaxy SII Plus with your Google account, and then you can re-sync the data with the Xperia Z2A, as explained below:

  1. Log in with your Google account on the Galaxy SII Plus
  2. From the home screen, press "Menu" > "Settings"
  3. Tap "Google" under "My accounts"
  4. Tap your "user name" or "email address"
  5. Clear and mark the check boxes next to "Sync Contacts", or tap "Sync now"
  6. Switch over to the Xperia Z2A and go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  7. Tap "Accounts" and register the same Google account as the one used on the SII Plus
  8. Allow the account to sync contacts with your Sony smartphone and you're all set

Using the "Import / Export" function for Contact Transfer:

You can export the contacts stored on the Galaxy SII Plus via the "Contacts" application. Once the file has been created, it can be transferred to the Sony Xperia Z2A via email, or manually using a computer.

  1. Launch the "Contacts" app on the Galaxy SII Plus
  2. Go to the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
  4. Press "Menu" and tap "Import / Export" > "Export to SD card"
  5. Write down the backup file's name and tap "OK"
  6. After the file has been created, open the email client
  7. Compose a new email and attach the vCard file to it
  8. Use your own Gmail address as the email's recipient, and send it
  9. On the Xperia Z2A, open the email containing the vCard file and download it
  10. Launch the "Phone" app and access the "Contacts" tab
  11. Tap "Menu" > "import contacts" and select to import from SD or storage
  12. Select an account if necessary, and browse for the vCard file. Once found, select it and tap "OK"

NOTE: after you have exported the contacts from the Galaxy SII Plus, you can transfer the VCF file to the Xperia Z2A by connecting both smartphones to a computer, and manually copy > pasting the file in the Xperia's "sdcard" directory. Then, import its contents via the contacts app, as explained above

Sharing Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

Last but not least, "Send Anywhere" is a third party application that can be used for easy contact transfer through a peer-2-peer connection. This app does not require you to have access to a computer, making it an effecting method of transfer.

  1. Install "Send Anywhere" on both smartphones via the Google Play Store
  2. After the app has been installed, open it on both devices
  3. On the Galaxy SII Plus, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Select the contacts that you wish to share and tap "Send"
  5. Lastly, select a method of contact transfer. Tapping "Generate QR Code" on the Galaxy SII Plus allows you to scan the resulting code with the Xperia Z2A's camera to commence the transfer. You can alternatively tap "Receive" on the Sony device, and type in the randomly generated transfer code from the Galaxy SII Plus
