Restoring Apps:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Access "Settings" and swipe to "Personal"
  3. Tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Tap "Backup account" and select the account used for the initial backup
  5. Tap "Add account" if necessary, and follow the on-screen prompts
  6. Mark the "Automatic restore" check box

Restoring Contacts:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Scroll to and tap "Backup & restore"
  3. Tap "Restore data now"
  4. Mark the "Contacts" check box and tap "Continue"
  5. Tap "Finish" once the process is done

Restoring Media Files

From the Smartphone:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing a home screen
  2. Launch "File Commander" and tap "SD Card"
  3. Navigate to the files you wish to transfer
  4. Mark the check boxes next to the files you want to restore
  5. Tap the "Copy" button at the bottom of the screen
  6. Return to the File Commander's main screen and tap "Internal storage"
  7. Navigate to the folder you wish to restore your files in
  8. Tap the icon showing a notepad and a pen, then tap "Paste"

From a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between your smartphone and computer
  2. In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders
  3. Navigate to the "Internal storage" directory
  4. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up media files on your computer's hard drive
  5. Copy the files from your HDD, and transfer then on your phone's storage
  6. Once the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  8. You can now safely disconnect the Xperia E3 from your computer
