Reset Application Preferences:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Apps
- Tap Menu > Reset app preferences
Clear App Cache:
NOTE: Clearing an apps cache can solve various issues you experience with the application, such as freezing or frequent crashes. You can also clear the cache if the app takes up too much storage.
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Tap Apps and swipe to All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear Cache
Clear an Apps Data:
WARNING! Clearing an applications data can solve numerous issues with an app, but it also removes all of your personal data stored within the application, including profiles, credit card and login information, high scores, saved games etc.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Tap Apps and access the All tab
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear data
Reset an Applications Settings to Default:
- Access the Settings menu
- Tap Apps and swipe to the All tab
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear Defaults
Reboot in Safe Mode to Remove an App:
NOTE: In case you have downloaded and installed a third party application on the phone that causes issues with your device and prevents you from removing it, you can reboot the phone in Safe Mode and remove the app from there. In Safe Mode, all third party applications are disabled.
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power until the phone vibrates
- At the Sony logo, press and hold Volume down until the phone finishes rebooting (a Safe mode label should be present in the lower-left corner of the screen)
- To remove an app from within safe mode, first go to the Applications screen
- Drag the left edge of the Application screen to the right
- Tap Uninstall
- The applications that you can be removed will be indicated by a red X button
- Tap the desired application to uninstall it, and tap OK to confirm
- To exit safe mode, simply press and hold Power and tap Power off to reboot your phone as you normally would
NOTE: Another way to remove an app in Safe Mode is by going to Settings > Apps, sliding the screen to Downloaded, selecting the desired application and tapping Uninstall > OK
