Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Power management”
  4. Enable “STAMINA mode”
  5. Select a battery percentage at which STAMINA mode enables automatically and press “OK”
  6. You can add or remove apps from the list of “Apps Active in Standby”
  7. Tap the enable “Low battery mode”
  8. To further customize how low battery mode functions, you can tap “Screen brightness” / “Screen timeout”, and enable or disable features like “Vibrate on touch”, “Wi-Fi” etc
  9. Tap to enable “Location-based Wi-Fi”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” (GPS)”, and “Bluetooth” to disable these features
  3. Tap “Settings”
  4. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  5. Tap “Tethering and Mobile Hotspot” and clear the “Mobile Hotspot” feature

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Brightness” and clear the “Adapt to light conditions” option, if necessary
  4. Drag the “brightness” slider towards the left and tap “OK”
  5. Tap “Sleep” and choose a lower timeout value, like “15 seconds”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by setting your phone / accounts to sync less data.

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Under “Accounts”, select the account type you want to edit
  3. Select the desired account
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third party applications can affect your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them – assuming that the apps perform regular processes in the background. As such you might be able to improve battery life in the long run by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Apps”
  3. Scroll to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app
  5. If desired, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the app

Turn Off Background Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Tap “Data usage” under “Wireless & Networks”
  4. Tap “Menu”
  5. Turn on “Restrict background data”

Use 2G Instead of 4G:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  4. Select “2G”

Keep the Firmware Up to Date:

NOTE: Certain software updates can improve battery life, so it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “System” and tap “About phone”
  3. Tap “Software update”
  4. Assuming that an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply it
