    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Power management”
    4. Enable “STAMINA mode” and select the battery percentage at which STAMINA mode turns on automatically
    5. Tap “OK”
    6. To change the apps affected by STAMINA mode, tap “Apps Active in Standby”
    7. Enable “Low Battery Mode”, and to customize the mode tap to enable or disable “Wi-Fi”, “Vibrate on touch” etc.

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. Tap “Brightness” and disable “Adapt to light conditions” if necessary
    4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left-hand side of the screen and tap “OK”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value for the screen

    Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

    NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve the phone’s battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “notification” bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth”, and “Location” (GPS) tiles to disable these features
    3. Access “Settings”
    4. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    5. Tap “Tethering and Mobile Hotspot” and disable “Mobile Hotspot”

    Use 2G instead of 4G:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    4. Select “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By syncing less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to “Accounts” and select the desired account type
    3. Select an account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable

    Turn Off Background Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Data usage” under “Wireless & Networks”
    4. Tap “Menu” and turn on “Restrict background data”

    Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

    NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them. This is because some apps run regular background process, so by disabling or removing unused third party apps you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Scroll to “Downloaded” and tap the desired app
    4. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app, or tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to completely remove it

    Keep the OS Up to Date:

    NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to batter life, so it’s recommended that you check for update regularly, and keep your phone up to date.

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll down to “System”
    3. Tap “About phone” > “Software update”
    4. In case an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it

    But if you turn of everything, what's the point with a smartphone?

    One can then use ultra save mode. Or buy a simpler phone, that last longer.

    Thoughts?

    The point is to have better control on your battery management. Some of the solutions above are not permanent. They are meant to increase battery life when you are running out and you don't have immediate access to a wall socket / battery bank.

    That's the issue with smartphones today. Compared to feature phones, battery life is pretty bad on all of them, regardless of brand / model etc.

    Yeah thats correct dude, especially if your out of town and their are no place to charger you're phone. Well there is a powerbank to charge but it sucks bringing powerbank all day.
