Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Sony Xperia XZ to your computer via USB
- Turn on Media Device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones / Alarms / Notifications folders
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Sound & Notification
- Tap Phone ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap OK
- Optionally, you can choose to enable or disable Also vibrate for calls
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the phones internal memory or SIM card.
- Open Contacts
- Select the desired contact
- Tap Edit
- Tap Menu > Set ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap OK for confirmation
Change the Notification Alert:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sound & Notification
- Tap Default notification ringtone
- Select the notification ringtone you want to use
- Tap OK
