I have an unlocked T-mobile phone with tmobile. I was wandering if I went to europe for the weekend if my phone would work there with my tmobile sim. If it does, do they charge me for using it outside of the country? I thought that since you can use any gsm provider in the states with an unlocked phone, that it would be the same anywhere, anyone know? thanks

Well you would be roaming and the International roaming rate differs from countries, Europe I think is like $.99/min. You can find out exactly by entering the country here. It will also show what kind of coverage you'll have over there.

First Activate International Roaming
grizzglory, before you can take your phone out of the U.S., you wanna make sure you have International Roaming.
International roaming is the ability to make and receive calls, text messages, and e-mails and access the Internet while traveling outside the United States. T-Mobile has agreements with carriers all over the world to make calling while overseas as easy as calling while at home. You might roam in the United Kingdom, for instance, using the T-Mobile UK network to make your calls.
Complete the form on www.t-mobile.com, or call customer care to add the service to your account. There is no extra charge to add the feature to your account. There will be a per minute charge, however, when you make calls while outside of the U.S.
To see what the per-minute charge is, select a country from the dropdown menu on this website
