Hi folks, I was wondering if someone here can help me. I bought a MA-8620C cable from Mobilefun and installed the softaare call Nokia 6610 Handset Manager that came with it.

Using this software I can upload ringtones, back numbers from the handset, send SMS messages etc. But when I try and upload Java games they appear on the phone but when I try and play them I get an erro message like "Invalid File" or something like that. I know these games do work because a friend uplaoded them to his phone using a DKU-5 cable.

Does anyone know why I'd be unable to upload the games properly? The firmware version of my phone is V4.18, does anyone know if this would be the reason?

I'm really lost here, does anyone have any ideas?

First: what's his phone? If it is NOT a s40 phone, get the right games for your phone. Look for it on this forum. Click HERE to check it.

Second: Install the games and after it put your phone out and on again. Like a pc sometimes a phone need a fresh startup..

    Let us check some things:

    1. Which phone
    2. Which kind of cable exactly (Pop-Port or F-Bus)

Next thing: Whatever this software is.... forget it! Use MobiMB!

Hi folks, the phone's a Nokia 6610. I went home hert night and uninstalled the software I was using. Installed Nokia PC Suite and the Game Installer and loaded some games. Tried them and they worked fine so it must have been the software I was using! Must give MobiMB a try too.

    Cheers for the replies anyway.

u can only use the official Nokia software if u have a Nokia Datacable. If u got another cable (a lot cheaper then those expensive Nokia Cables!) u have to use other programs like MobiMB Mobile Media Browser or Oxygen Phone Manager II

Hi bartez_nl. Well, what can I say? It's not an official cable but the PC Suite software is definitely working with it.

If you go to http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/1511.htm it says about halfway down the page:

"The package provides you with a high quality datacable to connect your mobile phone to your PC/laptop and also comes with a CD containing Handset Manager software. The provided datacable is fully compatible with the Nokia software provided with your phone, which can be downloaded at Nokia website, in the support section." (Edit - It didn't say anything on this page about PC Suite being compatible until recently).

The "Handset Manager software" is the thing I was using that wouldn't load the games correctly for me. PC Suite loads the same games but they all work for me now.

Yeah... if you wanna spent 25 bugs for a data cable it's cool...

    I use a F/M-Bus cable for 5 bugs and it's fine, too....

I'd stick with Mobi MB mate, I find the other software just complicates matters.

Make sure that you download a Jad Generator to make sure your Jad file is correct then upload the jad and jar files to your phone, and providing your using series 40 games then they will work no problem on your 6610.
