I've got a summer job with a custom cutting crew for the summer and I need to find a phone that I can use from Texas up through the Dakotas. I know most of it depends on the service provider, which will have to be either Alltel or Unicel, they are the only two in town. I need a phone with good reception because I will be in the middle of nowhere most of the time, and it also needs to have good volume as I will be running a tractor or combine most of the time.

I was thinking a simple flip phone, like the motorola v60, that way I won't have to worry about scratching the screen or screwing up the buttons. The phone will likely be abused so it needs to be built tough.

I'm not into cell phone games, camera phones, or ring tones; all I need is a simple reliable phone with caller ID and voicemail.

So the main things that I am worried about now are:
reception
volume
accidently breaking the phone

Any suggestions or advice would be helpful as this will be my first cell phone.

Thanks,
Sven
