Does anybody know if a cellular company can tell you ,if the call you were on at one time & abruptly ended;was dropped or hung up by the person you were speaking to? My boss claims he has the proof, yet when I called the cellular co myself, they claim there can be no proof because there is noway one can tell. So what proof can my boss be talking about? She claims she has the statement that says on there, that our last conversation was a hangup. Who's lying? My boss or Nextel?

Most likely its your boss but to be sure I would call Nextel a couple more times to get a hold of a few different reps. to make sure they say the same thing.

No, there is NO way to tell if the call was a hang up or a dropped call. The only person who can tell you this, is the person who was on a cell phone. If it was a dropped call, it will say on the phone "call lost" or "call dropped". There is NO proof, your boss IS lying. The boss is an absalute LIER. The only thing the cell company can tell u is how long the call lasted, when the call was placed, who the call was to/from and where the number was located.. Other than that... theres nothing they can tell u..

    Howdy gypseyrose,

Only thing I get on my end is a message on my phone that reads "Dropped Call", when that happens and neither party actually hung up. Otherwise I get the "Call Ended" message with how long the call was. Also when I get dropped call either I or the person I was talking to will call back.

Sounds like you and your boss are having problems with each other, and he's trying to goad you into losing your cool. Don't fall for it, just say tell him you are not sure what it is that he has as far proof, but you know that you would never hang up on anyone, if the conversation wasn't over. Also tell him you are sorry he feels he was hung up on (or whomever it was that complained), but you can't or won't argue about something you didn't do. (If in fact your didn't).

Also check your phone bill for the time and date of the call and see if there was a credit for a dropped call on that date and time. And in the future should a call get dropped, call your carriers customer service to report it, so you will at least have a record of noting that the call was dropped. (if your carrier doesn't do dropped cal credits unless asked for).

It completely depends upon the model of phone as to what message would appear. for example, mine always says "call ended" no matter what happens.
Thank you very much sir....As my thanks...A Twoonie...
