Weird problem at home w incoming calls VERIZON Samsung 610a - Need Help

Hello Everyone:

There is what happening: my mom has Samsung 610a with Verizon, which worked perfectly for over a year. Recently she strated missing calls but not everywhere, only at home. She doesn't miss any calls while she's at work or visiting her friends but as soon as she enteres her apartment, her phone stops rining. I called her more than 10 times in a row & only one call went through. She has a full bar, everything looks good, she didn't install any new hardware, didn't change a thing in her apartment... It's been like this for the last 2 weeks.

What do you think can possibly cause this?

If you or anyone she knows uses Verizon try using another phone in the apartment.
It might be that the local cell tower is at capacity. Try calling at different off peak times and see what happens.

This may be a stretch, but has any construction happened in the area that could be blocking the signal, or maybe between where the apt. is and the tower? Is there someone who is a HAM radio freak and could possibly be transmitting a signal nearby that could be showing your phone as a full bar, but not actually be a cell phone signal, thus blocking it? Has anyone done anything in the nearby apartments construction wise, possibly air duct or air handling units? Or maybe the original tower nearby has been replace by another tower and you're just on a bad angle?
