I am a 25 year old male who has used a cell phone now for about 6 years. I always keep it in my front left pocket. I'm not usually paranoid about rays or cancerous things like that (microwaves), but I'm starting to worry that all these years of keeping my phone in that pocket for most of the day is starting to effect me. There is a small lump or knob in my thigh where the top part of the cell phone rests. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I've been more aware lately of taking the phone out of my pocket and setting it on a table if I'm sitting down. I don't have the luxury of putting the phone in a purse like most women do, so I'm stuck as far as what do about this situation. I don't want to resort to getting one of those belt strap devices because those don't appeal to me. Thanks for your help.

Never really experienced any problems, but I usually keep the cell phone in a shirt pocket or in a jacket pocket. That's been my modus operandi

You might consider getting a holder that attaches to a belt. It's better than cancer, right? And get a medical opinion on any lump right away.

You can get a docking station and an earpiece if your phone supports bluetooth.

That should eliminate the unsitely bulge.
