Hello, I just bought a unlocked used Motorola RAZR V3 phone from ebay. I have T MObile and the phone I bought must have been used by someone with Cingular.
All of the Cingular information including banners and menu options are still on the phone. Is there a way to remove all of that information from the cell phone? The cell phone works perfectly I just wanted to get rid of all of that useless stuff.
Also, do you know if I have T Mobile my Faves if that will still work right even though I do not have the faves icons?
Thank you

Re: Can you remove info from a used cell phone
I've always wanted to know this. I'm always worried to recycle my phone because I don't want people getting me old information.

There are hacking programs that can do this, BUT unless you know what you're doing you can LOCK your phone and then have to send it to the manufacturer. If that happens they will JUST unlock the phone and all the logos etc. will be put back. Find a dealer who can "CLEAN" the phone and re-install the software.

Your personal information is removed when you either take out the sim card and if you don't have a sim card you can go to Tools and clear anything you don't want to leave in. You can also just destroy the phone by smashing it as most phones are worthless after a year or so.

I think recycling would be better though.

Just go to tools and clean everything out!
